Cognitive Behavioural Approaches Programme

This programme has been developed based on cognitive behavioural therapy and its associated evidence-based principles/approaches.  Such aspects include:  introducing thoughts and feelings, exploring your worries, stress and anxiety in the body, problem solving and behavioural/cognitive strategies. The programme seeks to give children and young people a toolkit to promote their own wellbeing.

Learning is supported through shared dialogue, reflective conversations and taught materials.  It is group based and suitable for Primary 7 and Secondary pupils. Pupils are identified by schools and then discussed with the Educational Psychology Service.  The programme is delivered over an 8 consecutive week period with one 50 minute group per week and is delivered in school within school hours.
